Apple Dumpling Dessert

Apple Dumpling Dessert
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • 1 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 apples, diced
  1. Bring brown sugar, butter and water to a boil.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in milk and vanilla to make a batter. Stir apples into dough.
  3. Drop by spoonful into boiling syrup in 9x13 pan.
  4. Bake slowly 350 degrees for 1/2 hour. Baste with syrup once or twice. Should be brown on top when done.
  5. Serve with whipped cream or plain cream.
